Extec and Fintec, two of the world’s leading manufacturers of mobile screening and crushing equipment, have recently joined forces to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of such equipment. This merger resulted in the two giants becoming part of the Sandvik group of companies following their acquisition in 2007. The acquisition gives Sandvik a very strong base for further expansion, which bodes well for the growing construction industry segment.
“These acquisitions are in line with Sandvik’s long-term strategy of sustained profitable growth, and our goal is to become the leading provider of mobile crushing and screening solutions in the market. With the acquisition of Extec and Fintec, we will expand our customer offering by adding medium and light crushing and screening equipment and thus become a strong supplier in this fast-growing industry,” says Lars Josefsson, President of Sandvik Mining and Construction.
“Extec and Fintec have modern production facilities, they are strong in research and development and have well-developed distribution networks. This, combined with Sandvik's global resources, will enable us to take our crushing and screening business into new markets and serve our customers even better," says Lars Josefsson.
